Leather cricket balls
Right Orbit balls are cut from alum-tanned leather, wound on a cork and rubber core and stitched by hand along the seam. They are built to hold their shape and swing deep into the innings.
Every Right Orbit ball goes through the same four stages on the bench. We're finishing our first batch now.
Hides are alum-tanned, dyed and cut into four matched quarters.
A cork and rubber centre is layered and wound tight with yarn.
The halves are joined and the raised seam is stitched by hand.
Each ball is shaped in a die, lacquered and checked for weight.
